Forbes.com
has ranked Johnson County, Kansas, as #3 on its "America's Best Places to Raise a
Family" list. Hamilton County, Indiana, and Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, came in
first and second. All
earned high marks for their low cost of living, reasonably priced
homes and short commute times. They also offer terrific schools, one
of the most important characteristics to consider when choosing a
place to raise a family. Factors that were considered included cost
of living, graduation rate, standardized scores, home price,
property tax rate as a percentage of median home price, percentage
of homes occupied by owner, per-capita income, air quality, crime

Endorses Public Safety 1/4 cent Sales Tax
The
Overland Park Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors endorses the
Johnson County Board of
County
Commissioners
' ballot initiative to renew a ¼ cent sales tax and dedicate

Cent Sales Tax Approved!
Overland
Park residents overwhelmingly approved the 1/8 cent sales tax
renewal to fund streets and thoroughfares. The Chamber helped make
residents aware of the mail ballot with a postcard mailing and yard
