discussions about a new U.S. transportation plan. Among

Park on 2009 "Best Places to Raise Your Kids" List
Overland Park has been recognized by Business Week as one of
the Top 20 "Best Places to Raise Your Kids" in America. Ranked
17th on the list, Overland Park was recognized specifically for its
strong schools and affordable real estate. As Business Week
reported: "Overland Park real estate is affordable, and the
schools are strong. Attractions in Overland Park, 16 miles south of
Kansas City, include championship golf courses and the 300-acre
Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens." To read more on

magazine has named Overland Park #9 on its 2008 Best Places to Live
in
America

County Ranked #3 by Forbes.com
Forbes.com
has ranked Johnson County, Kansas, as #3 on its "America's Best Places to Raise a
Family" list. Hamilton County, Indiana, and Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, came in
first and second. All
earned high marks for their low cost of living, reasonably priced
homes and short commute times. They also offer terrific schools, one
of the most important characteristics to consider when choosing a
place to raise a family. Factors that were considered included cost
of living, graduation rate, standardized scores, home price,
property tax rate as a percentage of median home price, percentage
of homes occupied by owner, per-capita income, air quality, crime
